Quixaba is a small fishermens village with around 1000 inhabitants. There are two small convenience stores and a few traditional Brazilian "barracas" down on the beach, serving lunch and drinks. More facilities are found in neighbouring beach Canoa Quebrada (around 15 minutes with car) or the closest city Aracati (around 20 minutes with car). There are numerous activities and small day trips that can be arranged, such as beach buggy tours to surrounding beaches, kitesurfing in Canoa Quebrada and snorkling in Ponta Grossa.
